This double layout fell into place so easily and so quickly... all I can say is thank you to the Scrapping Gods for giving me my mojo back.
I know it's a bit bright and a bit pink, but she's a pink girl from way back.
I love the ribbons and patterned paper on it and could have easily left it plain without any photos cos it looked that fabulous.
The strips on the sides are patterned black & white paper from Breezy Designs with pink ribbon running the length which I put through the Xyron 150.
Along the bottom I have a double layer of ribbon - one plain black satin ribbon which is overlaid with a white with black spots cross grained ribbon, again both through the Xyron 150... how else do you adhere ribbon when that is just so easy to do?
The heart I cut from a template of mine. Instead of cutting it whole and then halving it, I lined the template up on either side of the sheet of white cardstock to give me a pre-cut straight edge for the middle. The holes were made by the Big Bite which I eye-balled for placement and then threaded all the brads through.
Finally the page was finished with two corner rub-ons from Hambly Screen Prints - Vintage Motifs Black - which I totally adore and need to restock.
I've been a busy bee working on a client's album the past couple of weeks though I did manage to squeeze in some pages this past week mainly as I had to get them done for put on the wall for the display for my step-daughter's 21st birthday celebration. And as I couldn't make it to Scrap Camp with my girlfriends, I had a "Remote Scrap Camp" in my studio... without all the packing and unpacking.
Over the next couple of days I will share my two latest creations as well as some of my old favourites which I am particularly proud of.
This wasn't the patterned paper I was originally planning on using, but I found it when I was looking for the other and it just looked perfect so I used it instead. Signature hand stitching and flowers :-)
For those of you who know me well or not so well, I am not now, nor have I ever been, a fabulous cook. And I couldn't follow a recipe to save myself even if my life depended upon it. Suffice it to say I will not be competing in the Master Chef traditional French cuisine recipecompetition EVER.
Needless to say no matter how much I try to convince myself otherwise I still need to eat... which invariably means I also need to cook. And my cooking, much like my scrapbooking is a case of going through my stash (read kitchen pantry) to see what takes my fancy (read whatever is in there).
And today's lunch was no exception...
The Recipe (and I use the term VERY loosely):
Packet of 2-minute noodles, any flavour, cooked in water with flavour sachet, then drained
Whole or part of a tin of corn kernels - we only had a part tin in the fridge so that is all I used
Grated cheese, any kind as long as it tastes good melted
Tin of tuna or other prepared meat, or bacon/ham etc thinly diced - I used tuna as that was what I found in the pantry first
2 eggs (not including the one that rolled off the bench and smashed on the floor - I should add that unlike the advert I was not able to pick up the smashed egg with just one paper towel, it took at least 8)
Flour to bind (don't ask how much cos I just kept adding more until it no longer looked too moist)
Salt & pepper / or other seasoning to taste - I didn't add anything, but think it could have done with something just to pep up the flavour
Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl (yes I had to get a larger bowl as the first one wasn't big enough... and besides I was doing the dishes so I didn't care)
Heat some oil in a frying pan
Spoon in a heaped tablespoon of mixture then flatten until about 1cm thick, so that it cooks through evenly.
Cook over medium heat, turning when golden brown and crispy.
When both sides light golden brown and fritter is cooked completely through, remove from oil, drain on paper towel (if you have any left after cleaning up the egg you dropped).
Serve with salad and sauce or sour cream. Of if you are like me and you are really hungry, eat them off the paper towel while you cook the next batch... who cares about the salad these taste too good.
